Thank you for being a part of Pack 34. We are thrilled to share Cub Scouting’s goals of family involvement, fun activities, and service to the community. We have an amazing year of events ahead but need community-wide help to make them happen.

Our Pack relies on your support to achieve our annual service goals. Using this Sign-up genius links below, please choose and sign up for any and all events that are of interest to you. Using this list, our Scouting community can work together to build the safest and best possible program for all of our Scout(s).

September 21, 2019
Coastal Cleanup Day – is the world’s largest volunteer day to protect our environment. Heal the Bay invites you to take part on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Volunteers from all over the world will do their part to clean local beaches, rivers, creeks, and parks.

Need: 5 Parent Volunteers to be on hand to assist in running the event. This event is sponsored by the WOLF DEN

September 4 – October 31
Popcorn Committee  – I am happy to announce that Kristine Erving has offered to lead our Popcorn Fundraiser this year. She will need some help. Please sign up for 1 of two Assistant Popcorn Kernels positions. These positions will work together to facilitate Pack 34’s annual fundraising program, including:

  • Help in facilitating the weekend sales at Safeway on Camino Alto
  • Coordinating the distribution of popcorn product.
  • Tracking distribution and sales and interfacing with the Marin Council
  • Training and leadership support will be provided

NEED:  We will need 2 volunteers to assist Kristine in executing our only fundraiser this year.

October 12-13 & April 25-26
Pack Fall and Spring Campouts – The #1 reason kids say they want to join Cub Scouts is because of CAMPING!!! We love camping. Please volunteer to assist the Outdoor Camping Chair in creating and executing a memorable camping experience.

NEED:  We will need 6 volunteers per campout event to assist with campout logistics

November 9th and 16th
Scouting For Food – We will conduct our annual “Scouting For Food” exercise November 9th (Door Hanger Distribution) and November 16th (Food Pickup).

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for the scouts to participate in charitable work that makes a real impact on the greater community.  We need all scouts to be available to participate in both weekends. This is not a drop-off event – we need parents supervision and assistance. Mark your calendar for Saturday, November 9th at 9:30 AM – We will meet at Sycamore Park at 9:30 AM To distribute door hangers and begin canvassing. Food collection to happen on November 16th same time, same place

NEED:  We will need 1 parent from each den to act as den liaison, assisting in coordinating with leadership. This event happens over two weekends. All scouts should participate with a parent.

February 1, 2020
Rocket Launch: The rocket launch is just that!!!! Blasting off model rockets. Starters and motors (A&B) will be supplied. Each scout who is participating must bring their own rocket, ready to fly (paint dry, glue hard). Estes Rockets INFO

NEED: We need 5 volunteers:

  • Launch Commander
  • Assistant Launch Command
  • Launch Safety Officer
  • Rocket Inspection officer
  • Sign in officer

March 7th, 2020
2020 Pinewood Derby – The Pinewood Derby Race is the premiere annual Cub Scout event. Your scout designs and builds their own race cars and the pack will race them all. The event takes place over two days.

  • Day One is Car Impound Day – March 4th (at the Pack Meeting)
  • Day Two is Race Day – March 7th (Time and location TBD)

NEEDS: Impound Day will require 5 parent volunteers to weigh and log in finished cars. Race Day will require 5 parent Volunteers In addition to The PWD Coordinator and Master Of Ceremony.

Blue and Gold Banquet -We gather to celebrate American Scouting with our Blue and Gold Banquet… It brings families together for an evening of fun and cheer. This year we will celebrate Blue and Gold on May 6th, 2020 during our regularly scheduled pack meeting time, from 6-8pm

June 3rd, 2020
2020 Pack 34 Bridging Ceremony – Our annual Bridging ceremony happens on the last scheduled pack meeting night and is a chance to celebrate our scout’s hard work all year as we award them their new ranks and “bridge” them over into their new dens. It is also a final opportunity to bid farewell and good luck to our Wenelo 2/ Arrow of Light scouts who are on to new adventures in the BSA Scouting organization. this ceremony turns into a BBQ and pool party to finish off the year.


  • Bridging Chair who coordinates food and volunteers to help
  • 2-3 Cooks to BBQ burgers and dogs
  • 3 Parent volunteers to assist in prep, setup, breakdown, and food distribution.

Den Sponsorship of events

I first must say thank you to all of our Uniformed and Registered leaders for all you do to help Pack 34 succeed. I encourage all parents and scouts to stop and thank a uniformed leader when you get a chance. Without these Men and Women, we would not have the kind of program our scouts enjoy.

Den Leaders, I am asking for dens to sponsor some of our smaller events. the job of Championing an event is to work with our Events ACM (James Gracy) to coordinate the event planning. Any communication needed can be handled by Our Communications ACM (Christina Mueller) Your den leadership and parents volunteers will act as on point to organize the event.
