Scout Hall-O-Ween Bash!

To benefit the long awaited renovation of Scout Hall,
The Mill Valley Rotary club is sponsoring the

Scout Hall-O-Ween Bash!

All Scout parents are encouraged to attend this important fund raiser. A fun evening of food by Il Fornio and others, adult beverages and dancing! Live music by The Cole Tate Band will rock the house till 10 PM or perhaps later!

In addition to a fun night of dancing, we are requesting all Scout families to donate someting of value towards our silent auction. Of most value would be the use of a vacation home, a dinner out to a hot resturant, perhaps tickets to some fun sporting or arts event, maybe a collection of fine wines, or a gift certificate to a salon or spa. Use your imagination. The more donations we receive, the more funds available to renovate the Scout Hall.

With all parents participating, our goal is to raise enough funds to replace the aging and decrepid bathrooms and imporve the disabled entry to currernt building code. Furture improvements will be made as additional funds are raised. Please contact your unit leader or volunteer to pledge your donation.

Scout Hall-O-Ween Bash! will be held beginning at 6:30 PM on Friday, October 27, 2006 at the Mill Valley Community Center. Tickets are $75.00 each. Please make your tax deductable checks payable to the Mill Valley Rotary Club. Your unit leaders will collect the checks and add your name to the guest list.

This will be like an old fashioned community dance. Cocktail attire is requested, costumes are optional! Prizes awarded for best costume. Get dressed up and bring your friends and neighbors!

For more information, please contact Jim Simkalo, at: simkalo at yahoo dot com or call three three two-five two two two, or check with your unit leader/volunteer! See you there or kindly make a donation if you are unable to attend.

Patches

If you're wondering where the heck to put all those new patches, download this Patch Template from the Cub store.

They sell something there called Badge Magic that can help you position those patches without sewing. You can get it at the Scout Store or order online, at www.badgemagic.com.

Pack 34 Meeting 10/11, Campout 10/14

Hey Pack 34,

This is a reminder that we have our first pack meeting next wednesday night at 7 pm at Scout Hall. We're going to welcome all of the new scouts with a "campfire", catch up on awards from this past summer, work on knots and prepare for the Saturday, Oct. 14 Campout. Bring well-fed scouts in full uniform.

Registration

Please bring a check for $75 per scout to the meeting. This covers annual registration, Boys Life Subscription, and helps offset pack expenses. Make checks payable to Pack 34.

Awards

The only awards we will have are going to be belt loops from Cub Scout Camp. If your son went to Cub Day Camp they should receive belt loops for Ultimate Frisbee, Volleyball and Soccer. Please e-mail our awards coordinator Tish Rosales ( tishfr at pacbell dot net) if your son went to cub day camp so we can order these.

Campout

We have a 24-person campsite reserved at China Camp State Park in San Rafael on Sat. Oct. 14. Because of the close proximity all are welcome to come up and spend the afternoon and evening however the limited amount of space means that not all families can spend the night. Please e-mail Dave Lundgren ( lodger at aol dot com) to ensure a spot and RSVP. Activities will include Mountain Biking, hiking, smores, campfire stories and more!

Also please note my new e-mail address. Yahoo was not letting me BCC so many people so I'm transition to wcannell at GMail dot com
