MV Memorial Day Parade, Monday, 29th, 10 am, Old Mill School

Hey Pack 34 Scouts:

Time once again for the Mill Valley Memorial Day Parade next Monday, May 29th. Please be there at 10 am sharp, near Old Mill School. The Parade will start promptly at 10.15 am, so we will need at least 15 minutes to organize the Pack.

In years past, we have rode scooters down the Parade path. But this year, we have chosen a theme more consistent with our Scout values: "Scouts Camping!"

Soooooo we are asking that Scouts come in full uniform with their favorite camping gear. Below is a list of gear and props that scouts may bring to show off their camping prowess:

  • Scout uniform
  • Canteens (filled with water)
  • Hiking boots
  • Backpacks
  • Flashlights
  • Walking sticks
  • Compass
  • Mess kit (hanging from your backpack)
  • Tree branches (as camouflage)
  • Sunscreen or mosquito repellent smeared on your face
  • Fishing gear: pole (with a smelly fish on the line?), tackle box, fishing cap

Be creative and fun! Show Mill Valley what you like best about camping. Any questions, please contact Israel.

Cub Scout Day Camp at Marin Headlands

Pack 34 Parents,

It's offical. The Cub Scout Day Camp will be at the Marin Headlands this summer. The sign up info is attached. Our bus pick up will be at Strawberry.

Yours in Scouting,

Will

Here is the message from the Marin Council:

Hi Cub Leaders,

Finally!

We have a location for the Cub Scout day camps. All three camps will be held at the Marin Headlands, hosted by the Headlands Institute at Rodeo Beach. This is an exciting and beautiful location with possibilities for a very diverse program. Bus service will be available as usual. Details of exact pickup locations will be available before the first day camp.

Remember, Cub Scout resident camp will still be at Camp Tamarancho.

Thank you for your patience.

Tim
