First Annual Rain or Shine Pack 34 Hike, Saturday, Dec. 3, 9:00 a.m. Tennessee Valley.
This is will be a great morning hike in Tennessee Valley to the beach and back. More advanced hikers can take the challenging ridge trail back. Bring a snack or early lunch, some water, a sweater or jacket, a hat and sun screen. We will meet in the parking lot and head off on our journey to the beach. Wolf scouts will use the morning to talk about respecting the environment and searching for wildlife along the trail.
Please contact Barb Sobel or John Smeltzer with any questions.
Pack 34,
Thanks to all of the scouts and parents who participated in the first half of ther food drive. This Saturday is the day we collect all of the bounty and get it to Scout Hall for delivery to the Marin Food Bank. Your den leaders will tell you the time and place to meet for the collection. Each boy who participates in the drive will receive a cool patch plus they are contributing to a very worthy local cause.
Here are the guidelines for the Presidential Fitness Awards which we started at the Nov. Pack meeting. The running portion of the test will be held this Sat. morning at 9am at the Tam High track. Because this is a gradual test parents and dens are on their own to improve their times and accomplishments. The requirements are attached and your boys have until January to complete the requirements. All boys in the pack who partcipate in the fitness tests will receive a partcipant patch. If you need further clarification contact me directly or ask your den leader.
Pack 34 Parents,
If you have not done so already please bring a $75 check payable to Pack 34 to tonight's meeting. Mary Anne Daley will be collecting checks and cash at the meeting.
The $75 covers the national scout registration, a subscription to Boys Life, and pack expenses which include the patches and badges which we award, food for campouts, and other cub socut necessities.
See you at 7 pm at Scout Hall tonight,
Yours in Scouting,
Will
Hey Pack 34 Parents,
This is friendly reminder of our Pack Meeting, Wed. Nov. 9, 7 pm at Scout Hall at 177 East Blithedale Ave.
There are going to be some new scouts to welcome plus we are going to do a bunch of fun physical activities so the scouts can earn Presidential Fitness Awards. Plus we'll be giving out awards, singing songs, and having fun. Make sure your scout's uniform is complete (tucked in shirt, hat, neckerchief and slide) because we are starting a marble collection for each scout in full dress. When the marble jar is full we are having an ice cream party.
All uniform supplies are available at the Scout Store in San Rafael, 225 West End Ave, San Rafael, CA 94901. 415-454-1081. The store is open until 7 pm on Tuesdays.
Also upcoming....
Scouting for Food Drive, Saturday Nov. 12. Den leaders to announce time and meeting place. This is the first half of our annual food drive. We drop off bags in neighborhoods throughout Mill Valley for food collection for the Marin Food Bank. Each year we collect thousands of pounds of food for the homeless and this is great example of what scouting is all about.
Scouting for Food Drive, Saturday Nov. 19. Den leaders to announce time and meeting place. This is the second half of the food drive. We pick up the bags full of food in the same neighborhood and deliver them to Scout Hall.
December Pack Meeting, Wednesday Dec. 14. 7 PM Scout Hall. Activity TBD but I promise it will be fun.
Yours In Scouting,
Will
The Annual Cub Food Drive is approaching! This is a benefit for the Marin Food Bank.
Please review this map, showing the territories each den is to cover.
Den leaders will be in touch with parents about what time the dens will meet to distribute the bags on November 12th and pick them up on November 19th.
This provides food for those who need it during the holiday season-- a very good deed! And cubs get a food drive segment for participating.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Dave LaDuke
