Felliniesque Movie of Cub Scouts at Cancer Relay

Mary Ann Daley took some experimental films of cubs in action, placing luminaries around the track for the Cancer Walk. This is a first for mvpack34.org! (Note: You need QuickTime software, available for free from Apple, to watch the movie.)

Grab a kernel of popcorn (it's a short movie) and enjoy!

I hope to see you all there,

Will

PS Don't forget the October Pack meeting is on Wed. Oct. 12 at 7 pm at Scout Hall.

Cancer Relay Project Tomorrow

Hey Pack 34 parents,

As you may already know, this Saturday at 4 pm, is the scout's first service project. Pack 34 will be helping to make luminaries for the annual Cancer Walk at MLK Field in Sausalito. As in the years past, we help place sand in the decorated paper bags that are used for the luminaries that line the track as people walk/run all night long to raise money for cancer-related projects. Pack 34 helps "light" the way for such dedicated and inspiring people. Each bag that we fill with sand is decorated in honor of a loved one who has lived with cancer; these bags are touching tributes to heroic people.

As you can see, this is a great opportunity for each one of us to help people with cancer. Maybe you know somebody who has cancer. If possible, come and help out.

Event: Cancer Walk

Service Project: Help make luminaries to light the track at night

When: Saturday, 9.24.05, 4 PM

Where: MLK Field, Sausalito between Ebbtide and Coloma off Bridgeway

Supplies needed: Wagons (to transport luminaries around the track)

See you there!

Will

Order your 8x10 White Water Rafting Photos

We've posted all of the photos taken by HotShots Imaging of our boats running the rapids at Satan's Cesspool. (Unfortunately they lost the Hospital Bar photos.)

The photos are here.

All of the families who participated on the white water rafting trip can order an 8x10 photo courtesy of the Pack. All you have to do is email the following information to photos@mvpack34.org:

  • Your name
  • The number of the picture you want printed (and quantity if you want more than one copy)

We'll hand them out at the next Pack Meeting.

If you can't choose just one, order as many as you'd like. Additional prints will cost you about $5 each. You can pay for these at the next pack meeting.

Of course, if you would like to print the photos yourself, just download them to your computer and print away. (To do this, click on the thumbnail of the photo you want, click again on the medium-sized image. You'll see a much larger, higher-resolution print version. Download that one.) Or, you can send photos to Shutterfly.com for printing right from the web site.

Enjoy!

Dave

Pack 34 meeting tomorrow night!

Pack 34 Parents,

Our first Pack meeting of the year is tomorrow night (Wed.) from 7-8 pm at Scout Hall. 177 East Blithedale Ave.

Please bring well-fed cub scouts in full uniform. New kids/parents don't worry about uniforms. I'll explain how and where to get them tomorrow night.

If you know any Park School or Mill Valley boys in grades 1-5 who are interested in joining Pack 34 please bring them and their parents. This will be a great opportunity for them to learn about our fun program.

Again, I'm sorry this is conflict with Middle School back to school night. Middle School parents please arrange with friends to have your scouts dropped off and picked up at the meeting.

Yours in Scouting,

Cubmaster Will
