Welcome back Pack 34

Welcome back Pack 34 to another year of great scouting!  We are starting in full force this week with two events:

Thursday, Sept. 9th, Cookout, Sycamore Park, 5:30 pm to 7.30 pm

You have already received an email from Renee and Tish about what food to bring.  In addition to great food and good company, we will be having some great events like tug-of-war and jostling.  Our fearless leader, Kerry Huffman, will also be introducing two new events (that will probably be exhibition Olympic sports in 2008):  Apple Smear and Watermelon Seed Spitting!  (Very interesting..... but silly!)  This event may change your life.

Friday, Sept. 10th, 9/11 Flag Raising Observance, Park & Edna Schools, 8 am

All scouts, in uniform, are to report to the flag pole at 8 am.  Park scouts will be led by Kim Kirley.  Older scouts will be asked to help with raising the flag.

Unfortunately, the details of the Flag Raising Observance at Edna have not been clarified at the time of this memo.  It may be that Pack 33 will lead the  8 am Flag Raising.  If Pack 33 is not leading the Observance, Pack 34 still needs a parent to lead this event.  I hope to clarify this soon.

  3. Plan enough to feed the number attending from your den.
  4. Side dishes (salads, vegetables, pastas)
  5. desserts

Please do not bring any PEANUTS, or products that have PEANUT OIL or PEANUT FLOUR.

Bring your own drinks. Paper products will be provided.
