Cub on Camera

The San Francisco Chronicle has a nice article and photo capturing Miles Lundgren on Memorial Day. They write:

Miles Lundgren, 8, a Mill Valley Cub Scout, places American flags on tombstones at Presidio National Cemetery in San Francisco on Saturday during the Memorial Day weekend holiday. Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts are putting flags on all 35,000 tombstones at the site.

Fishing derby this Saturday, June 12, 10am - 3 pm

The Second Annual Marin Rod and Gun Club Fishing Derby is Saturday, June 12 at the Marin Rod and Gun Club pier at Pt. San Quentin. Admission is still $5.00, and includes lunch, bait and a patch. Any Scout who brings a boy age 7 to 12, who is not a Scout and fills out an information slip will get in free along with his friend.  Please register on attached form.

General Information

  1. Bring your own rod. This is pier fishing, but heavy saltwater gear is not necessary. A sturdy freshwater rod and reel will suffice.
  2. Tackle should include hooks roughly the size of a dime, 1-2 oz. round or oval lead sinkers (not pyramid shaped), and at least 6# test line.
  3. Bait and instruction will be provided by Boy Scouts and Marin Rod and Gun Club.
  4. If you plan on working on the Belt Loop or Merit Badge, be familiar with the requirements before the event and bring a blue card.
  5. Bring plenty of water, a hat, a jacket and sun screen! BE PREPARED.
  6. NO LICENSE REQUIRED.  This is California's free fishing day!
  7. Pre-registration only--deadline for registration is Wednesday, June 9th.
  8. Open to all Cubs, Scouts, and their families and friends!

Dirt Bowl: Pack fun-raiser and recruiting opportunity

Hi Everyone,

This is our third year for the Dirt Bowl basketball program.  This has been a great fundraiser and recruiting opportunity for Pack 34.

If a scout brings another boy, and that boy joins, the scout gets a recruiter patch and a basketball segment.

Additionally, all boys get a cool t-shirt (see logos attached).

The great thing is, we schedule around your vacations...in the summer.

Please read all worksheet tabs and send to your den parents.

Thanks,

Kerry Huffman
Cubmaster

P.S.: Kids outside of Mill Valley are more than welcome!

P.P.S.: We have girls as well as boys teams.
